About NorCal Clean Cities
A regional, nonprofit coalition for cleaner transportation across Northern California.
NorCal Clean Cities and Communities, a designated DOE Clean Cities Coalition, advances economic, environmental, and energy security by supporting actions to reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation and energy sectors within the Northern California region.
Nationally, the Clean Cities and Communities program advances the nation’s environment, energy security, and economic prosperity through collaboration with communities by building partnerships with public and private stakeholders. Coalitions like ours implement alternative and renewable fuels, electric vehicles, idle-reduction measures, efficiency improvements, new mobility choices, and emerging transportation technologies.
Who we are
A coalition built to cut petroleum use
NorCal Clean Cities and Communities, formerly the Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) and a U.S. Department of Energy designated Clean Cities coalition. We bring fleets, public agencies, and businesses together to cut petroleum use, support cleaner vehicles, and improve air quality, serving communities across Northern California, from the greater Sacramento region north to the Oregon border, and parts of Solano County.

We are one of more than 75 coalitions in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities program, a government and industry partnership that helps communities cut petroleum use in transportation. We have recently expanded our service area across Northern California.
